Loud Speaker

This speaker will fill any one room that is up to 12,000 sq. ft. in size.

When used outdoors, it really helps to aim the infrared sensor and speakers directly toward the spot where the birds are landing.

For settings with urban noise, it can help to adjust the sensitivity down so that the loud speakers only go off when the bird is really close.

(In human terms: this is like not being so startled when a car alarm goes off in the distance vs jumping because a car alarm goes off when you get too close)

115 foot infrared sensor

• Infrared sensor works like a garage door safety sensor.
• Can be triggered by birds as far out as 115 feet
• 120 degree horizontal spread (60 left, 60 right)
• 90 degree vertical coverage (45 up, 45 down)
• Adjustable sensitivity (High = Infrared beam triggered at 100+ feet ; Low = infrared beam triggered at 10~ feet)

Mountable

Has two holes for easy mounting of the device on an outside surface such as a wall, tree, fence, gazebo, eave, pole, etc.

This device is water-resistant, so it can get rained on or splashed, but the back isn't water-proof so it shouldn't sit in a puddle of water

Adjustable Sonic/Ultrasonic Slider

Can be adjusted from sonic (audible-to-humans and birds) to ultrasonic (inaudible to human) ranges, allowing you to dial in the right frequency for your particular bird problem.

While setting the frequency all the way to High will make it quiet for you, it's also possible to go above the hearing range of certain bird types, so we usually recommend stopping about 3/4 of the way to the right.

My neighbor is feeding birds but they make a mess in MY yard

Place the repeller near the area on your property where the birds are making a mess.

Aim the front, white window towards the area that the birds are approaching from to startle them before they get to your property.

The infrared beam shoots out of the front, white window about 100 feet, and the beam spreads out in a 120 degree horizontal arc. The vertical is 90 degrees (45 up, 45 down)

The birds are super high up, like in a tree or on a roof

For birds in a tree, the branches can potentially block the infrared beam. Pull the device out past the furthest branch and set it on its back, with the window aimed at the sky.

For birds on a roof, you can similarly aim the device up at where the birds fly in from, or you could (safely) try setting the device up on the roof

I have LOTs of birds

We usually recommend using the Sensor Mode to startle birds when they approach an area, but when there are LOTS of birds, you may get better results from using the Continuous Sound mode.

This can work to annoy enough birds to whittle down their numbers until there are few enough to switch back to Sensor Mode.

Birds are getting into my garage or barn

For birds

• sitting above a car
• entering a garage
• landing on a boat spar/mast
• entering a barn

It's best to aim your device at the point where the birds are landing or entering. While the device is sensitive enough to be triggered from 100+ feet; we've found that 10-20 feet away tends to be an ideal distance

The Low Frequency setting is Audible

Birds hear the same sounds as humans, that why they fly away when you clap your hands or yell at them...

Birds can hear a little bit into the ultrasonic range, but not much higher than humans, and less than cats and dogs.

That's why this device has a slider switch, so YOU can control the frequency!

The bird is sitting on the device??

This actually means a couple things:

• The device is annoying the bird enough that the bird changed to a spot where it wouldn't trigger the sound
• The bird approached the device from behind or the side and didn't break the IR beam
• Sometimes, adjusting the angle of the device a little can help better cover more areas that the birds approach from

There are a lot of settings

This device has many settings to help with obstacles to success:

• Birds used to Urban Noise Pollution are likely to be used to loud noises
• Neighbors (or you?) are annoyed by the audible setting
• The birds don't seem to react to the sensor mode

The "Low" Sonic Frequency setting is best for startling birds because it's a LOUD sound:

it's also noisy to humans, and everything that can hear in the same range: birds, cats, dogs, your annoying neighbors, etc.
